CES 2021 new thing f PC gaming, it's going to be massive.

We live in odd times, so obviously CES 2021, arguably the biggest tech event of the year, had to adjust. And while many of the digital events that occurred during the pandemic have been relatively minor, for PC gamers, CES 2021 is shaping up to be a fairly significant display.

Over the next week, Nvidia, AMD and Intel all have big keynote shows, and the way reports have shaped up to several major hardware releases for all three points. So, whether you're a laptop warrior or looking for a way to update or build a new PC, over the next week or so, you'll definitely want to keep an eye on the proceedings.

Ampere and Big Navi are still brand new

Back in September 2020, Nvidia launched its Ampere graphics cards, led by the RTX 3080. Then, with its initial Major Navi cards heralded by the Radeon RX 6800 XT, AMD followed in October. Neither graphics card manufacturer has, however, released a complete lineup of GPUs.

The initial launch of Nvidia provided us with the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080, RTX 3090 and RTX 3070, followed shortly in December 2020 by the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti. With the AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT and Radeon RX 6800 XT in November 2020, AMD launched even fewer cards, followed briefly by the Radeon RX 6900 XT in December.

Of course, at the beginning of December 2020, Nvidia had already released the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 Ti, but the RTX 2060 and GTX 1660 Ti were only a month apart, so these fast launches are not unheard of.
