Why You Should Change the Default Password
Changing the password is recommended after you get in the first time. If you don't change your router's password, then someone with access to it will be able to change their settings and even lock you out.
This is a concept that is similar to a lock on your door. If anyone purchases the house but never changes the locks, they will still have access to their home with their keys. The same applies to your router: if you never change a key or password, your router can be accessed by anyone who is aware of the password.
